11. Baybayin Inukit Typeface
This project is a cultural and typographic initiative focused on reviving an ancient Philippine script, translating its traditional forms into a modern, usable font family. The aim is to make the script accessible for digital design, publishing, branding, and everyday applications, bridging cultural heritage and contemporary communication.
The project combines historical research and typographic innovation:
Historical study: Examining archival manuscripts, inscriptions, and traditional forms to ensure authenticity.
Typeface development: Designing a versatile font family with multiple weights and styles suitable for modern digital and print use.
Contemporary application: Ensuring compatibility across platforms while preserving the aesthetic qualities and rhythm of the original script. The approach balances cultural integrity with modern usability, allowing the script to live again in practical, everyday contexts.
The resulting font family revives a historical Philippine script for contemporary use, enabling designers, brands, and individuals to integrate this cultural heritage into digital media, editorial projects, and modern communication.
